For ST2s nearing ST3 and current ST3s

A practical one-day course exploring how to manage multiple problems, complex cases, and diagnostic uncertainty within the time-limited GP consultation — all while staying patient-centred.

What you’ll learn:

  • Structure consultations clearly and efficiently

  • Prioritise multi-problem or complex cases

  • Maintain safe, patient-centred care under time pressure

  • Use strategies like signposting, agenda setting, and safety netting

  • Develop management plans without rushing or overwhelming

Format:
Small group learning (max 5 per facilitator), actor-led simulations, real-time feedback, and time for reflection.

Understanding the Patient’s Agenda

For GP trainees deepening patient centredness

Go beyond symptoms. This course focuses on discovering the patient's full agenda, beliefs, and expectations — and responding to them meaningfully in consultation.

You’ll explore how to:

  • Elicit the real reason behind the appointment

  • Understand the impact of illness on daily life

  • Identify and work with patient beliefs and expectations

  • Respond to what matters most to the individual

Format:
Realistic scenarios, small group teaching (max 5 per facilitator), feedback, and hands-on skills practice.

Mastering Patient Centred Management

For ST3s preparing for exams & real-world general practice

This one day intensive course supports you in refining your consultation approach with a focus on SCA preparation, RCGP expectations, and real-life clinical complexity.

You’ll learn how to:

  • Create tailored management plans

  • Practise shared decision-making

  • Reflect and refine your communication style

  • Handle uncertainty while staying patient-focused

  • Receive detailed, real-time feedback

Format:
Interactive seminars, actor-led simulated consultations, and no more than 5 trainees per facilitator to maximise feedback and personalised learning.

Our small-group format (maximum 5 trainees per facilitator) ensures time for personal feedback and supported practice
