AKT Statistics: Interpretation for Clinical Practice

Full-day course | ST2/ST3 | Face to face preferred; live online seminar is possible

A one-day study day supporting trainees with the evidence interpretation and statistics element of the AKT.

The course focuses on interpreting risk, effect measures, research findings, visual data and AKT-style statistics questions with more confidence.

Sharing Information Safely: Confidentiality, Consent and Competence in GP Practice

Half-day course | ST1–ST3 | Face to face only | Optional full-day extension

A practical session on making safe, proportionate & defensible decisions about information sharing in GP work, including police requests, court orders, parental requests, informal disclosure risks, Gillick competence, Fraser guidance and documentation.

The session uses a structured decision-making approach to disclosure decisions.

Complaints, Mistakes, Speaking Up and Professional Risk

Half-day course | ST2/ST3 | Face to face only

A case-based session helping trainees respond safely when things go wrong, including complaints, near misses, patient safety incidents, candour, escalation, speaking up and learning from mistakes.

When Practice Changes: Risk, Adaptation and Professional Judgement

Half-day course | ST2/ST3, especially near-CCT | Face to face only

A discussion-led session exploring how workload, adverse outcomes, team culture and system disruption can affect clinical behaviour, risk thresholds, professional boundaries and reflective practice.

Format, group size and fees

Typical group size: 15–30 trainees.

Fees are quoted per course and depend on format, group size, delivery mode, location and any scheme-specific tailoring.
